QUESTION
Gate entry systems
02/01/2021
We are presently using the International Security Networks (ISN) as our entry system at Hideaway Beach. We are looking at other systems and was hoping someone could recommend a system they found superior.

We have ISN. I like the new online platform. We switched from their legacy database to their new platform and I like the real-time changes that happen across all of their platforms (websites, app, GateKeeper, etc.).
Scott DeAtley – Harbour Ridge
Most of us here on the southeast coast use ABDI in Boca Raton? Contact Dan Russo dan@abdi.net

John, we have had TEM for a very long time(way before my hiring) and are looking as well because we are not happy with them. Additionally, we have purchased a Traffic Logix speed camera that TEM, at this point, cannot integrate with. ABDI is a reputable company that many of our guys use. I polled the question 6-9 months ago and Mike should have that archived. They do also integrate with the speed camera so as soon as we can see that in action, ABDI may be the way we go. We’ve also looked at ISN and I’m wondering why you are going away from them. Why are you moving away from them? Just trying to cover all my bases.
Mark Chapman – Stonelake Ranch
We have used Cap Sure since I have been year in 200. Originally they were a pain in the ass, but their current software is very easy to use and I have been very pleased. They have added aspect were I can pull up one entry point for research, reporting on access per panel, door, or gate, and many more. They are now Frontsteps as they were purchased.
Josh Bieri – Loblolly
I highly recommend ABDi over ISN. I have used both.
Others I have experience with would be Safehouse.
I also really enjoyed this system but ABDi is better.
Safehouse’s customer service to me with issues I have seen was better than ISN
Hope this helps.
If you have any specific questions please let me know.
David Weatherwax – Hilton Head
Don’t think I can help you. Our system was created by a local small company that created it specifically for our needs.
Jimmy Willis – Sandestin
We use ISN as well.
Scott Sheppard – Mirasol
I am familiar with the ISN system and would be in the same boat as you. Get away from it. I will always recommend ABDi. http://www.abdi.net/ I have been using them for over ten years and I have never thought about moving away from them. Their system is customizable for anything that you can think of. They can build it to your specs. I would recommend contacting John DiMenna 561-451-3232 x408, John@abdi.net , and he can help you with whatever you need.
Feel free to call me if you have any more questions about it.

We use A.B.D.I. Applications by Design to cover everything from entry database to RF triggers for gates ect.
2 years ago I wasn’t the biggest fan due to some tech support issues but that was quickly fixed and for the last 2 years I have to say
Those guys are best in the Biz. I couldn’t be more happy.
Carolos Morales – Bay Colony
We still use ISN here at Bay Colony.
Elizabeth Sandifer – Avila
We are not familiar with the program you are using however we have had great results and really like the ABDI Access gate management program.
Daniel O’Connell – Williams Island
I am an ABDI fan…..
Have been with them since 2009.
I have 5 gates and 10 visitor stations with them.
No complaints.
Pipers Landing – Larry Lemon
John we use ISN also and in my opinion we have found it to be the best. Just an opinion, not looking to start a web war but I wouldn’t change unless forced.
Tony Giles – Mediterra
We here at Mediterra are also using ISN and their speed control devices the Traffic Hawks. I also would be
interested in the replies you receive.
Louis Chiappetta – Audubon
I like gatekeeper but my community uses safehouse and it is terrible so whatever you get don’t get safehouse
Michael Charbonneau – Wyndemere
Have cloud based “Gate House” from TEM Systems. Good product.
Tim Cook – The Landings
ABDi still leads the market if you need integration with other various software platforms; Continental Control or DSX (RFID/barcodes), Great Plains & SalesPad (accounting).
TekWave caught my eye, but I don’t know of anyone who has used their products yet. We didn’t make a change, because they aren’t nearly as versed with integration.
Alan Barker – Amelia Island
You may want to look at the ABDI platform. It’s pricing is considerably more but is in my opinion much more robust and reliable.
Orlando Ortiz – Old Marsh
ABDI is our go to software. Easy to use and Train. http://www.abdi.net/ Training SOP is attached. Please use as you see fit.
Dennis Marinan – Trump National
We use Dwelling Live at Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter and the Eagle Tree POA. I am not 100% knowledgeable about the ISN access control software, however I believe it is similar to ABDI and some others. Here are some highlights about why we chose Dwelling Live…
- This property utilizes a Front Gate (Main Gate), a Service Gate (only for commercial use and employees), and two interior gates (each controls access to one street of Residents). When I first started each of these gate systems were controlled by different computer systems and to program one transponder I would need to program different computers. The employee access was completely different system as well. Dwelling Live was able to connect all the gates into one computer system and the access devices are all programmed by the same system.
- The interior gates have new call boxes with touchscreen. The call boxes allow the use of Security Codes, Security Issued Passes w/bar codes, transponder interface, Call Resident, and Call Security to allow access of vehicles onto the interior streets.
- Dwelling Live allows for the multiple business facets
of the property to be integrated in one system. We have 3 separate
entities on property…
- Eagle Tree POA – Homeowners
- Trump National Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter – Club Members
- Timbers, Jupiter – Fractionally owned homes and their management company. They are treated as a COA on this property.
- Each home is listed separately and can be searched for many ways just like any other system
- Every Club Member is also listed in the computer system and has the same search ability as a homeowner. The Membership Director has partial access to the system to assist with updating Member profiles.
- Every fractionally owned home is also in the system although the owners of each home are not listed, except when they are in residence for their weeks of stay. The COA is given partial access to Dwelling Live to enter the names of their guests for the weeks of their stay.
- The Dwelling Live system is expandable for future growth, and I don’t mean adding addresses. If the Club , in the future decides to change the locks to Card Access or FOB Access, Dwelling Live can be programmed to control all of that.
- Ordering new transponders or printed passes is done online through the system. Cost is pretty good when compared to having a third party charge you their costs to order and deliver products.
- Their Tech support has always been available when needed. If needed you can call or click the Tech Support link in the system.
- Although we do not use any reports in the system for this property, there is a reports function.
- Advanced Search capabilities are very good for getting details of when a vehicle entered property.
- The system has POA Management tools, which we do not use here.
- There is a POA Website which we do use as well as an online directory.
- System is web based and backed up online.
There are a number of other features also but I will say one of the issues we did have nwas that the company is not the installer. Dwelling Live will help you get in contact with an authorized installer. That is an important step as the installer must be good.
Renato Nova – Ocean Club So far ABDI work for me , 4-5 years running, I can integrate with field operations one stop solution, tech support is ok
