Dear Members,
As we move into 2024, the seventeenth year of GCSMA, I would like to update you on the current state of affairs and activities of our organization.
On May 5, 2023, we held a GCSMA meeting at Old Marsh Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens. This was a great event and I cannot thank Kerry Finn, General Manager, and William Hotchkiss, the Director of Security, enough for hosting. Life Safety Solutions and ADT Security Systems generously sponsored the event, providing breakfast and lunch for everyone along with very informative presentations.
Every effort was made to have a fall meeting at Pelican Landing in Bonita Springs on September 1, 2023. Unfortunately, Hurricane Idalia had other plans and the meeting was canceled for the safety of everyone concerned. I am always looking for properties to host meetings each spring and fall. There are no costs involved for the host property as vendors are in place to sponsor the meetings; we just need a place to hold the meetings. If you are interested in hosting, please let me know.
Training is still available for anyone in our organization. Marvin Vasquez is geared up and ready to go. Where else can you obtain valuable training for your staff that comes to you to do the training? I can tell you where – nowhere! It is my mission to make GCSMA the best organization possible. The collaboration and communication between properties is invaluable. We would not be where we are today if it were not for every member’s participation, shared thoughts, and ideas.
